The Bully pt.1- This was my final in the class where I had to make comics. I love action fighting, but there needs to be some humor there too or else you just feel sorry for the protagonist if he loses. I kinda suck with detailed backgrounds, but I think the style kinda goes with the childish look of this particular comic. This is my take on what Brian was like as a kid. Just slightly hyperactive.
The Bully pt.2- I like it when the bad guy learns a lesson and becomes good. This is why Gaara vs. Rock Lee is the greatest anime fight ever, even if it takes Gaara until the next arc to become the good guy. |

The Worst Art Critic of All- I find this to be true for many artists. There are periods when no one likes their own art. I also don't like to hear my own voice or see myself on camera. This was also for school, but these aren't in order. "The Bully" was the last.
Keep It Simple, Stupid- I wouldn't mind if a friend noticed that I don't change my shirt for a week and told me to change it. No need to be so polite. As it is, I can't tell if no one notices, or people are being too nice to say anything. Same goes with my occasional nose gold-digging. Calvin & Hobbes imitation- This is a replica of an early C&H comic, done for school. I love Calvin & Hobbes, but Bill Watterson is extremely critical about how the art of comics should be done. Actually, he reminds me a lot of Matt Wilson. Read his blog off of his Bonus Stage website. He tears apart every artist and voice actor that doesn't do it right, as if he knows the only way to do it. Granted, he is right about amature voice actors who imitate their favorite anime dub voices. It doesn't prepare you for good comedic timing, or sounding convincing at all in some cases. That's Kagome/Rina-chan's only fault, but she's getting better. Just recently I heard that Rina-chan finally got a part in an official dub. But now this is starting to sound more like a blog post than a commentary, so I'll stop now. |
